Black History Month celebrates the past, builds the future

DCN-JOC News Services
Black History Month celebrates the past, builds the future

Every February people across North America commemorate the impact Black people have made on their communities, and Black history in construction is part of that conversation.

In Canada, the theme for this year is Black Excellence: A Heritage to Celebrate; a Future to Build and in the U.S. it is African Americans and the Arts.

The Daily Commercial News and Journal of Commerce will feature coverage throughout Black History month to highlight Black history in construction, as well as the individuals and associations who are making the industry a better and more inclusive space.

To start off our coverage, we are providing a recap of some of last year’s stories as well as other articles we featured throughout the year on diversity and equity initiatives and accomplishments.
