A worker does his part for the construction of the 2010 Olympic curling venue in Vancouver near Nat Bailey Stadium.
The $28 million facility will include 250 seats, four competition curling sheets, offices, change rooms and equipment storage.
After the 2010 Olympic Games, the facility will be expanded to include a community centre with gymnasium, athletics, fitness centre, one NHL-size hockey rink and eight curling sheets.
Completion of the project is expected by late 2008.
Stuart Olson Constructors Inc. is the construction manager; the architect is Hughes Condon Marler.
The landscape architect is PWL Partnership Inc.; construction engineer is Hunter Laird Engineering Ltd.; structural construction engineer is Read Jones Christoffersen Ltd; and electrical and mechanical engineer is Stantec Consulting.
