A worker was tossed 10 metres into the air during a crane mishap in North Vancouver on July 25, 2008.
Workers were in the midst of lifting a smaller crane onto a large barge-mounted crane, when one worker tried to shake loose an off-balance load as the operator continued to lift the boom.
When the load came free, it rose suddenly into the air, tossing the worker into the air. The man was taken to hospital with injuries to his back and legs.
Police were on the scene to investigate, but later turned the investigation over to WorkSafeBC.
The incident happened at the work yard for Vancouver Pile Driving Ltd., the same company operating the crane that fell across Highway 1 recently.
