The District has issued a separate request for proposal for architects to design the field-house portion that will coincide with a connected soccer field.
When complete, the sports centre will contain a new hockey arena with bowling alley, and a soccer field with 1,500 portable seats. The separate field house will contain washrooms and change rooms.
The combined $20 million project is tentatively scheduled to start construction in late spring 2009, with possible completion in spring 2010.
