Braces hold up recently erected tilt-up concrete panels for the Grandview Business Centre in South Surrey, B.C. The job included lifting massive tilt up panels into place, including one panel that was 31’ wide, 58.7’ high and 12” thick.
It weighed about 186,000 lbs.
Double V Construction was the general contractor/construction manager and GWIL Crane Services performed the lifts. Ionic Architecture Inc. is the architect for the four storey multi-tenant office building. Graestone Ready Mix Inc. was the ready-mix supplier and Heritage Steel provided the rebar. Consulting engineers on the project include Krahn Engineering Ltd. (structural), MEC Engineering Consultants Ltd. (mechanical) and Integral Building Consultants Ltd. (electrical).
