Alter NRG Corp. of Calgary announced a seniors’ residence in London, Ontario has ordered a geoexchange heating and cooling system for $450,000.
The firm’s CleanEnergy subsidiary received a $450,000 purchase order for the system at a 72-unit seniors’ affordable living complex. Construction is expected to start during the second quarter of this year.
With the installation of the geoexchange system, the home will have a loop, consisting of a series of pipes, that circulates a fluid into the ground below the frost line and back into the building, which provides heating in cold weather and cooling in warm weather.
The project has been awarded conditional funding from the Ontario government, through the Renewable Energy Initiative.
