The government of Canada will phase out the MERX tendering system in favor of an in-house, free website starting on June 1.
The new site, buyandsell.gc.ca, replaces Merx as the Government Electronic Tendering Service (GETS). Merx is a subsidiary of Mediagrif Interactive Technologies Inc.
Once the federal government’s contract with MERX expires on May 31, 2013, buyandsell.gc.ca will become the “the official site for Canada to meet its trade agreement obligations and the authoritative and first source for Government of Canada tenders,” according to the buysandsell website.
Public Works and Government Services Canada (PWGSC) is responsible for Buyandsell.gc.ca/tenders.
