SaskTenders website officially launched

Journal Of Commerce

A new website provides information on procurement opportunities for the Saskatchewan government and Crown corporations, as well as municipal, academic, school and health sectors.

A new website provides information on procurement opportunities for the Saskatchewan government and Crown corporations, as well as municipal, academic, school and health sectors.

“At any given time, there are up to 200 tender opportunities on the site,” said Nancy Heppner, Saskatchewan’s central services minister.

“Competitions range from highway construction and infrastructure opportunities, to information technology or consulting services.”

The redesigned SaskTenders site aims to make it easier for businesses to access tender opportunities. Some of the features of the new website are:

more intuitive site navigation;

enhanced competition display and the ability to browse open competitions by commodity category;

improved search functionalities including a key word search and more intuitive searches; and

improved email notifications and bid matching notifications for suppliers.

In addition, the site has a new, shorter address, sasktenders.ca.

The old address, www.sasktenders.gov.sk.ca, will redirect to the new site.

The website facilitates government purchases from the private sector and the procurement of billions of dollars in goods and services each year.

It is operated through the Ministry of Central Services.

Similar sites are available for procurement opportunities in Alberta and British Columbia as part of the New West Partnership, which allows Saskatchewan businesses greater access to tender opportunities across western Canada.
