Transcona's East End Arena is undergoing a major expansion with 48,000 square feet of new space being added to the Winnipeg facility.
The $9 million project is jointly funded by the City of Winnipeg, the Province of Manitoba and the community center.
The construction will add a new rink and upgraded amenities to the two existing ice sheets. Thomas Design Builders is the general contractor for the project.
Granite Concrete Services and Jenkyns Electric are sub-contractors.
The new Tri-plex is slated to open in the fall.
