Nexii plans new Kentucky plant

Vancouver-based green construction company Nexii is partnering with Buffalo Construction, Inc. to build a green manufacturing plant in Louisville, Ky. The plant will produce sustainable building and retrofit products for projects across the southern and eastern United States. Buffalo Construction will be the local owner and operator of the new Kentucky plant.

Calgary Event Centre project agreement amended

The City of Calgary, Calgary Sports & Entertainment Corporation and the Calgary Municipal Land Corporation have announced Calgary City Council has amended the terms of the project agreement. The amendment provides $12.5 million in support from the City of Calgary required for the Event Centre project to complete the detailed design stages with construction anticipated to commence in Q1 of 2022. The new budget estimate is $608.5 million.

Construction begins for Saskatoon waste diversion facility

Construction has begun on Recovery Park, a waste-diversion facility built next to the City of Saskatoon’s landfill. A new road into the Recovery Park site has already been built and will open on Aug. 9. Visitors will still access the landfill off Valley Road but will be directed onto the new road while the existing one is decommissioned. The park is scheduled to open in 2023.
