EDMONTON – The Government of Alberta is investing $125 million over the next four years to develop MacEwan University’s new school of business building.
The new school of business is a proposed seven-storey tower giving MacEwan University an additional 35,000 square metres of space including 30 classrooms, 20 collaboration spaces and 15 study spaces. The building will accommodate an additional 7,500 students in business and STEM fields across its downtown campus.
Services inside the new building include a simulated trading floor, services for international students and a careers and experience office.
“Through this investment, MacEwan will make higher learning more accessible to more students while bringing the university closer to its goal of enrolling 30,000 students per year by 2030,” a release stated.
MacEwan University opened as Grant MacEwan Community College in 1971 and celebrated its 50th anniversary in the 2021-22 academic year.
