The Metropolis Festival, a mid-winter event to showcase Edmonton's cold-weather construction technology, has been postponed until 2014.
The festival was held last year but according to the Edmonton Journal due to the high cost and labour-intensive nature of the four temporary structures built for the event.
PCL, Integral Containments and Aluma Systems contributed $1 million of in-kind support for the previous event.
The previous event showcased four large pavilions consisting of scaffolding and shrink-wrap with various activities taking place inside the structures. It was held through January and February 2012.
