VRCA announces in-person events

The Vancouver Regional Construction Association (VRCA) has announced upcoming dates for in-person events contingent with the lifting of COVID-19 restrictions in the BC Restart Plan. Scheduled in-person events include the association’s annual golf tournament on Sept. 15, the Awards of Excellence on Oct. 19 and the VRCA Christmas Luncheon on Dec. 9.

Feds and FCM invest in Yukon community asset management

The federal government is investing $50,000 through the Federation of Canadian Municipalities Municipal Asset Management Program for the Village of Carmacks in the Yukon to conduct a detailed inspection and assessment of assets and a review of current and historical maintenance practices and competencies. The current plan will be updated and would focus on assessing lifecycle needs and required investment in both operating and capital. 

Loop Energy, GreenCore partner to build hydrogen powered EV charging stations

Vancouver-based Loop Energy and GreenCore are working together to produce hydrogen-fuelled electric vehicle chargers. The companies anticipate the first pilot installation to be completed within the calendar year of 2021 with more than 1,500 EV charging and hydrogen refuelling stations by the end of 2026. Use of hydrogen enables EV charging in off-grid environments.
