VICTORIA — A new innovation network is launching to prioritize clean-tech in the fervent fight against climate change on the West Coast.

Foresight Canada’s Net Zero Innovation Network will support clean-tech innovators to compete, attract investment and talent and grow faster as their products come to market, states a news release.

Foresight is developing the network with $2.3 million in support from the Government of British Columbia and $5.2 million from Pacific Economic Development Canada.

The network will create clusters in the water, bioeconomy and mining sectors with plans to include more sectors in the near future, states a release.

The network is also intended to support regional economic growth opportunities and reduce the risk of investment decisions at the provincial and federal level to support net-zero and environmental goals.

“This project will take clean-tech innovation in British Columbia to the next level, allowing climate ventures and industry leaders from key sectors across the province to develop and scale critical climate solutions,” said Jeanette Jackson, CEO of Foresight, in the release.
