On this episode of the Construction Record podcast, digital media editor Warren Frey speaks with PCI Developments president Tim Grant about the King George Hub, an expansive mixed-use development situated next to the King George Skytrain station in Surrey, B.C.
The hub officially opened on Sept. 15 and is Surrey’s first comprehensive transit-oriented development. Grant explained how plans changed and adapted as the station changed from a terminus for the Skytrain system to a link to a new extension from Surrey to Langley.
He added PCI Developments used what it had learned from other transit-oriented developments such as Marine Drive and the Crossroads at Broadway and Cambie in Vancouver to inform the Surrey project.
