PARRY SOUND, ONT. — Kropf Industrial Inc. has constructed a new production facility in Seguin Township, thanks to a boost from the Ontario government.
Ontario invested $1 million in the Kropf Industrial facilities expansion project through the Northern Ontario Heritage Fund Corporation (NOHFC).
Kropf Industrial fabricates a broad range of equipment, including floating dock systems, hydraulic boat trailers, boat storage stands and customized equipment for material handling and transportation.
This expansion will allow Kropf to address process flow, reduce environmental impacts and decrease production inefficiencies, states a bulletin issued by the Ministry of Northern Development and Mines. This capital project also allowed Kropf to hire five new employees in the areas of production, sales and administration to serve domestic and international markets.
The project included building a 13,500-square-foot addition, along with a state-of-the-art sandblasting booth and a modern paint booth. These upgrades were made to enhance working conditions, decrease production costs and increase the company’s competitiveness.
Between January 2013 and June 2017, the province has approved over $533 million through the NOHFC, leveraging over $2 billion toward 3,317 projects in Northern Ontario, and creating or sustaining 13,926 jobs in the North, adds the release.
