Worker suffers life-threatening injuries after falling on construction site

VAUGHAN, ONT. — A worker in his 50s has been transported to hospital with life-threatening injuries after falling at a residential construction site in Vaughan, Ont.

A York Regional Police spokesperson said they received the call shortly after 8 a.m. on Aug. 10. It is unclear how the worker fell but police reported he fell from the second floor into the basement of a home under construction on Ridgepoint Road, near Kirby Road and Kipling Ave. in Kleinburg.

York Regional Police, Vaughan Fire, York Paramedics and Ornge Air Ambulance attended the scene and the victim was airlifted to hospital.

A Ministry of Labour inspector has been assigned and the investigation is ongoing.
