TORONTO — Broccolini hosted a virtual groundbreaking for its 37-storey River & Fifth project in Toronto recently with the firm’s COO Anthony Broccolini making remarks live from Montreal.
The project, Broccolini’s first in Toronto, includes 580 residential units off River Street between Queen and Dundas near the Don River. Suites range from 341-square-foot studios to 1,401-square-foot three-bedroom units as well as townhomes with three bedrooms.
“Using our family name on our projects means a lot to us and reflects our commitment to excellence in everything we build,” said Anthony Broccolini during the groundbreaking held in late June. “We’re unique in that commitment as we wear the two hats of this industry — both the construction side and developer side. It is this track record that we bring to Toronto.
“River & Fifth is a really special project because it marks our first residential tower property in Toronto and we feel really grateful it can be in a neighbourhood with so much promise and connected to green space and public parks.”
The design team includes Graziani + Corazza Architects, Milborne and U31 Design.
The project will have an 11-storey podium and Broccolini will be building a park on the south side of the development and a pedestrian connection to Bayview Avenue.
A 25,000-square-foot amenity space includes a children’s playroom, fitness area with yoga studio, personal training room, boxing gym and co-working space. As well, a 12th-floor rooftop amenity space features a Baja pool with suntanning deck and cabanas.
“River & Fifth is located in an incredibly connective area with easy access to the river and to green space and public parks,” added Anthony Broccolini. “While the last few months have been challenging, they’ve also given us the chance to get on the ground and support the community and get to know our new neighbours better. We look forward to continuing those relationship and watching River & Fifth develop over the coming months.”
