ULI dives into Transit-Oriented Communities

The Urban Land Institute Toronto will be presenting webinars tomorrow and Friday. Tomorrow the theme is How is Community Engagement Evolving in the Era of COVID? Friday it’s Transit-Oriented Communities: Uptown Hurontario-Steeles Virtual Walkshop. The events start at noon and 9 a.m. respectively

 

Cultural spaces funding for New Brunswick

The federal government this morning announced $249,000 in funding for Edmundston’s Centre des arts La petite eglise in New Brunswick. The funding will be used for renovations to three cultural spaces managed by the centre.

 

Blasutta joins McIntosh Perry

Woodbridge, Ont.-based engineering firm McIntosh Perry today is announcing that Hugo Blasutta has joined its board of directors as chair. Blasutta was previously president and CEO of WSP Canada and CEO of MMM Group.

 

Trump issues permit for Alaska-Alberta railway

U.S. President Donald Trump yesterday issued a Presidential Border Crossing Permit for the Alaska — Alberta Railway Corporation project to lay track across the border between Alaska and Canada.  The proposed route connects Alaska’s deep-water ports and the existing Alaska Railroad network to Canadian railroads through northern Alberta. Construction is anticipated to be complete by 2025, with the railway being fully operational in 2026.
