HAMILTON, ONT. — The Mechanical Contractors Association of Hamilton Niagara (MCAHN) has announced this year’s MCAHN McMaster University Student Chapter team which includes Kailey Zeran as president, Ryan Chishti, Patrick Gurczak, Evan Meredith, Nathan D’Hoine, Maximilian Aoki, Mufrad Saleh and Alisha Suthakaran.
The student chapter serves as a mechanism for employer management recruitment and succession planning within the mechanical contracting industry.
Employers guiding this year’s McMaster University Committee are Kyle Getty (chair) of Sutherland-Schultz; Graeme Langdon, Alberici Constructors Ltd.; Sean Smithson, Modern Niagara Toronto Inc.; Scott Wright, Gordon Wright Mechanical Ltd.; MCAHN association manager Wanda Heimbecker; and McMaster University facility adviser Dr. Stephen Veldhuis.
MCAHN association employer members are welcome to share their expertise as volunteer student resources mentors, states a MCAHN release, adding each year the team completes the time sensitive MCA America Project Competition Bid as the only Canadian team participant.
The project this year is a renovation of a 100-year-old building at the University of Pennsylvania Museum and covers 10,000 square feet of space.
The student chapter team is taking care of the entire mechanical scope (plumbing, piping, HVAC, controls, etc.) including the supply and installation of all HVAC and plumbing work.
Any expertise in heritage building renovation, estimating and design would be appreciated by the team.
