TORONTO — The Skills Ontario Summer Camp at Sheridan College in Brampton, Ont. recently received a visit from Ontario Premier Doug Ford, Minister of Colleges and Universities Jill Dunlop and Associate Minister of Women’s Social and Economic Opportunity, Charmaine Williams.
The week-long day camps are hosted across the province and provide youth with fun, interactive activities to build skills and learn about the rewarding and fulfilling opportunities in the skilled trades and technologies, states a release.
The camps are sponsored by the Government of Ontario, Sheridan College and Magna and run over the months of July and August, providing students with the chance to participate in skilled trade and technology workshops and tours. Skills Ontario is also hosting camps for French-speaking and Indigenous youth and in conjunction with in-person camps, virtual workshops are being offered this summer as well.
