TORONTO — Ontario Premier Doug Ford recently celebrated the dedication and accomplishments of several construction industry leaders by awarding them a King Charles III Coronation Medal.

Among the many recipients, those with direct correlations to construction included Dr. Dirk Huyer, chief coroner of Ontario; Mike Gallagher, business manager at IUOE Local 793; Jack Oliveira, business manager at LIUNA Local 183; and Enzo Garritano, president and CEO of the Infrastructure Health and Safety Association.

The King Charles III Coronation Medal is given to someone who has made a significant contribution to Canada or to a particular province, territory, region or community of Canada, or have made an outstanding achievement abroad that brings credit to Canada.

It was created to mark the coronation of His Majesty King Charles III and will be awarded to 30,000 people.

These latest recipients join Chris Campbell, Carpenters’ Union Local 27 president and director of diversity, equity and inclusion with the Carpenters’ Regional Council and LIUNA International vice-president and Canadian director Joe Mancinelli.
