Alectra donates bucket truck to Cambrian College

MISSISSAUGA, ONT. — Alectra Utilities Corporation recently announced it has donated a bucket truck to help train powerline technicians at Cambrian College in Barrie, Ont.

The vehicle donated is a 2008 diesel-powered International 7400 bucket truck, equipped with a Posi-Plus Double Bucket 63 Foot Aerial Device, stated a release.

Alectra serves over one million homes and businesses in Ontario’s Greater Golden Horseshoe.

“We know students will benefit from these additional resources that are sometimes outside the reach of program budgets and we’re proud to contribute to the powerline technician training program at Cambrian College,” said Brian Bentz, president and CEO of Alectra, in a statement. “It’s rewarding to provide support for the training of future powerline professionals that will serve our industry and communities in the future.”
