LONDON, ONT. — Affordable housing provider Homes Unlimited (London) has announced the official opening of a 110-unit affordable housing project at 99 Pond Mills Rd. in London, Ont.
The residence will be owned and operated by Homes Unlimited. It features 110 one- and two-bedroom apartments, 44 of which are wheelchair accessible, stated a release.
Residents of the building include people with disabilities and limited mobility, families and households of modest means, women and children coming from shelter housing, seniors, Indigenous people and new immigrants.
Funding of nearly $25 million was announced in August 2021 and delivered through the federal National Housing Co-Investment Fund. Homes Unlimited also contributed $2.5 million in cash equity and $1.1 million in land equity.
Residents started to move in on April 1.
“The need for safe, affordable rental housing here and across the country has never been greater and Homes Unlimited looks forward to creating new opportunities in the years ahead,” stated Carmen Sprovieri, president of Homes Unlimited, in a statement.
