The project team has completed the final step in Canadian tower construction for the $5.7 billion Gordie Howe International Bridge project between Windsor, Ont. and Detroit, Mich. and work is also progressing on all buildings and structures at the Canadian and U.S. Ports of Entry.

According to a post on X (formerly Twitter), workers are removing the jump form system and both towers are at their full height of 220 metres. For the ports of entry, activities include roofing, masonry and structural steel work and utility installations. The bridge is being constructed by the Windsor-Detroit Bridge Authority, a Crown corporation, and Bridging North America, a consortium of comprised of ACS Infrastructure, Fluor and Aecon. It is a cable-stayed design with a clear span of 843 metres, which is the longest main span of any cable-stayed bridge in North America. It will feature six lanes, three Canadian-bound and three U.S.-bound. Cable installation and bridge construction continues. The total length is 2.5 kilometres. It is slated for completion and will be in service by the end of 2024.
