OSHAWA, ONT. — Residents in Oshawa are making use of the newly constructed pedestrian bridge in Erie Park.
The bridge, located at 43 Erie St., connects pedestrians and cyclists to the city’s trail system.
Project highlights include a new three-metre-wide galvanized steel bridge with safety railings; creek bank erosion measures; new trees and shrubs; and a repaved pathway with energy-efficient LED lighting leading up to the bridge.
More improvements are planned for the area this summer, including additional erosion control protection along the Oshawa Creek and the replacement of the existing stone retaining wall adjacent to the creek edge that is north of the bridge.
The project was approved as part of the city’s capital budget process.
