EDMONTON – The Government of Alberta has announced nominations for the 2024 Alberta Heritage Awards are now open.
The awards recognize achievements of Albertans engaged in heritage preservation, protection and promotion, a release said, and individuals, non-profit organizations, corporations, municipalities, First Nations and Metis Settlements can be nominated for an award.
The nomination categories are heritage conservation, heritage awareness and outstanding achievement.
Guidelines and nomination forms are on the Heritage Awards site along with nomination packages. The deadline for nominations is June 1and this year’s recipients will be recognized at an awards ceremony in September during Alberta Culture Days, the release said.
The awards are presented every two years and 82 awards have been presented since the awards were reintroduced in 2005.
