TORONTO — Infrastructure Ontario (IO) and Quinte Health have awarded a contract to M. Sullivan & Son Limited for the Prince Edward County Memorial Hospital Site Redevelopment Project.
IO and Quinte Health selected M. Sullivan & Son Limited following extensive evaluations through an open, fair and competitive procurement process that began in March 2023.
Construction is expected to begin in summer 2024. It is a design-bid-build project. IO and Quinte Health are working with the Ministry of Health to deliver the project.
The project includes the construction of a new hospital with improved equipment and facilities to meet the needs of the local community and will feature a 24-hour emergency department, a new helipad, surgical suite, dialysis unit and other specializations.
Key features will also include 23 inpatient beds; an acute inpatient unit supported by physicians within the Prince Edward Family Health Team; inpatient pharmacy; satellite hemodialysis unit; ambulatory care including clinics, medical day care, procedure rooms and medical device reprocessing; diagnostic imaging including X-ray, ultrasound, mammography and cardio-diagnostics; central laboratory; and efficient access to other Quinte Health hospitals, secondary care in Belleville and tertiary care in Kingston.
