PCL Construction is making leadership changes in five of its Canadian districts.
Geoff Howe has been promoted to senior vice-president and district manager for its Toronto office, assuming overall responsibilities for PCL’s operations in the Greater Toronto Area and southwestern Ontario.
Howe succeeds Marc Pascoli who has been promoted to regional vice-president with oversight of PCL’s Toronto area operations and PCL’s Solar operations.
A professional engineer, Howe has spent his entire 17-year construction career with PCL. He was hired as an estimator in Toronto and has held leadership positions in Saskatoon, Winnipeg and Vancouver. In 2022, Howe returned to his hometown of Ottawa to become district manager.
Mathew Baranowski has been promoted to district manager for its Ottawa office overseeing district operations throughout the Ottawa region.
Baranowski joined PCL as a field engineer in Winnipeg in 2010, then progressed to project manager. In 2020, he moved to the Edmonton office as manager of special projects. In 2022, he was promoted to operations manager for the B.C. region.
Baranowski succeeds Howe and joins Paul Knowles, Ottawa senior vice-president and district manager to co-lead the district.
Mike Zurowski has been named district manager of PCL’s Regina office and will oversee projects throughout southern Saskatchewan.
He has been with PCL Regina for 24 years and has grown his career in Saskatchewan. Through progressive roles, including eight years in the role of manager of special projects, Zurowski has been involved in the delivery of hundreds of projects. He was promoted to operations manager in 2021.
Career highlights include the construction of Mosaic Stadium and the Centre for Mother Baby at the Regina General Hospital.
Zurowski succeeds Jordan Clouthier, who was recently promoted to vice-president and district manager for the Calgary office. He will lead and oversee PCL’s operations in Southern Alberta.
Clouthier began his career with PCL’s Ottawa office in 2008 as a field engineer and later progressed to construction co-ordinator and then project manager. He became manager of special projects in 2019 and was promoted to district manager for Regina in 2022.
Some of his project highlights include Ottawa’s Bayshore Shopping Centre, the Mattawa Plains Compound and the Ottawa Macdonald Cartier International Airport. From his time as district manager in Regina, notable projects include the Regina Airport Runway Rehabilitation, the SaskPower Head Office Renovation and the Highway 6 over 1 Twin Bridges Replacement.
Clouthier succeeds Alistair McKnight, who was recently promoted to regional vice-president responsible for Regina, Saskatoon and Winnipeg.
Ryan Andrews has been promoted to district manager for PCL’s BC Region operations, located in Richmond. He will provide leadership and direction as the company continues its growth in the commercial, institutional, transportation and civil sectors.
Andrews joined PCL in 2012 as a field engineer with the US Civil division and in 2018 relocated from Seattle to Vancouver, where he was promoted to the role of construction manager and tasked with leading the Civil Infrastructure Division for the region.
Notable projects under his leadership include the Fibreco Terminal Silo Replacement, Sunnyside Reservoir, Neptune Terminal Coal WTP, Capstan and Brentwood LRT Stations, Teck EVO AMC Project, Northshore WWTP, and several other projects in the port, water infrastructure and mining sectors.
Andrews joins Jeff Murphy, newly promoted to senior vice-president for BC Region, who in turn succeeds Sean Hamelin who was newly promoted to regional vice-president responsible for BC Region, Calgary and Edmonton, effective Nov. 1.
