Construction is moving along on the Salvation Army Harbour Light project at Jarvis and Shuter streets in Toronto. General contractor The Atlas Corporation began the 8-storey, 98-unit building in June 2006 and completion is scheduled for January 2008 and the top floor will be the mechanical room. The Salvation Army Harbour Light project was designed by Diamond and Schmitt Architects Inc. Consultants are Read Jones Christoffersen Ltd. (structural) and MCW Consultants Ltd. (mechanical/electrical). Subcontractors include: Shor-Cais Consulting Ltd.; Hardrock Forming; Agent Steel (structural steel); Vaughan Masonry Inc.; St. Marys CBM (concrete supply); Novel Mechanical Inc. Nortown Electrical Contractors Associates (electrical/fire alarm system); Northwest Painting Ltd.; Stouffville Glass Mirrors & Aluminum Ltd.; and Schindler Elevator Corp.
