The Ontario Skills Training Enhancement Program (OSTEP) is supporting the expansion of the Interior Finishing Systems Training Centre in Woodbridge and will help to purchase equipment for training workers in hazardous materials and exterior insulated finishing systems.
Ontario will invest more than $702,000 over the next three years in the training centre. OSTEP is a cost-sharing program between governments and industry to expand facilities and modernize equipment for the skilled trades.
“By investing in this training centre here in Woodbridge, we are training people in high-demand trades that will give our community a skills advantage,” said Minister of Training, Colleges and Universities John Milloy.
Through OSTEP, Ontario’s $15-million investment over three years has leveraged a $10.6-million investment from industry in state-of-the-art equipment and infrastructure.
