Construction progresses at the independent girls school Branksome Hall on the new athletics and wellness centre in Toronto, Ont.
The project/construction manager is the Gillam Group and completion has been scheduled for fall of 2014. The work includes a 25-metre indoor pool and separate indoor leisure pool, a gymnasium with viewing space for spectators, high-performance fitness room, an ERG room for rowing training, yoga/dance studio, kitchen and cafeteria to accommodate 600 students, change rooms and support facilities.
The project is designed to meet LEED Silver certification and the architect is MacLennan Jaunkalns Miller Architects. Consultants are: Blackwell (structural); Smith + Andersen (mechanical/electrical) and PMA Landscape Architects Inc.
