Construction is progressing at the Centennial College Residence and Culinary Arts Centre on Progress Avenue in Scarborough, Ont.
Construction manager of the nine-storey building with accommodation for 740 students is FRAM Building Group. The ground floor is dedicated to Centennial’s School of Hospitality, Tourism and Culinary Arts, complete with seven kitchen labs, eight additional classrooms and a teaching restaurant. The conference and events centre will be located on the top floor and it will also have one level of underground parking. The owner is Centennial College and completion is scheduled for September 2016. The project was designed by Diamond Schmitt Architects Inc. Consultants are: Read Jones Christoffersen Ltd. (structural) and Able Engineering Inc. (mechanical/electrical). Subtrades include: Summit Forming Ltd.; Master Steel Fabrication Ltd. (structural steel); Malfar Mechanical Inc.; Panson Electric Services Ltd.; State Windows Corp. and Viana Roofing & Sheet Metal (roofing).
