TORONTO—Two leading engineering firms are joining forces to form a multi-disciplinary engineering company that will provide a wide range of services in the public and private sectors across Canada, explains a recent release.
CCI Group Inc. (CCIG), a national team of building science and environmental engineering experts, and McIntosh Perry Consulting Engineers Ltd. (MPCE), a multi-disciplinary engineering firm based in Eastern Ontario, announced the merger of the two companies Oct. 5.
According to the release, the new company, called McIntosh Perry Consulting Engineers Ltd., has more than 450 engineers, project managers and technical experts in offices across the province in Toronto, Ottawa, Kingston, Perth, Pembroke and Oakville, as well as in Montreal, Calgary and Vancouver.
"McIntosh Perry and CCIG operate in different but complementary sectors. Both firms have been on similar trajectories for the past few years and share a common set of goals and values," said Gus Sarrouh, CEO, McIntosh Perry Consulting Engineers Ltd., in a statement. "Merging the two firms will diversify our service offerings, expand our geographical reach and enhance our client service."
CCIG provides services that cover all stages of the building lifecycle, from the initial environmental and property condition assessment to design and inspection during construction to decommissioning and pre-demolition. MPCE’s work includes civil engineering, contract administration and inspection services for infrastructure-related projects, adds the release.
"This union opens up new windows of opportunity for both companies," said Todd Perry, vice-chairman of MPCE. "By combining our two firms together, we will be in a strong position for future growth."
The new company offers a full range of consulting engineering services and technical solutions that encompasses every stage of a project, including surveying, environmental and geotechnical engineering, building science, contract administration, project management, municipal engineering and land development engineering and planning, the release reads.
