Groupe Dallaire announces expanded vision for Phare de Quebec project
The $650-million, four-tower Phare de Quebec project to be built on Boulevard Laurier in Quebec City by Groupe Dallaire will now include a 750-seat concert hall. -

Groupe Dallaire has unveiled the latest vision for its $650-million multi-use Phare de Quebec project, announcing the development now includes a 750-seat concert hall.

Michel Dallaire, CEO of Groupe Dallaire, made the announcement at a press conference held Nov. 15 in Quebec City.

"We have taken the concept a step further to ensure the best project possible. Our teams have worked with internationally recognized architects, and together they have refined the product," explained Dallaire in a statement.

Le Phare, to be built on Boulevard Laurier, will feature four towers with a total floor space of more than two-million square feet offering office, commercial, residential and hotel uses; a year-round "dynamic" public space; a public observation tower at the top of Le Phare, presenting Quebec City then and now and offering a 360-degree panoramic view; and the newly announced multimedia concert hall.

The largest tower will be 250 metres in height, rising 65 storeys.

The concert hall’s development and content will be administered by Steve Barakatt, an internationally respected artist, said Groupe Dallaire.

Residences will include residential and leased units. The hotel will have 150 rooms.

Construction is expected to get underway late this year or early in 2017, according to one media report.

Groupe Dallaire is one of the largest landowner-developers in the Quebec City area with holdings that include close to 160-million square feet of property designed for a range of projects: office and commercial buildings, multi-purpose industrial facilities and residential developments.
