REPENTIGNY, QUE. — As part of a downtown revitalization plan geared towards creating a cultural space for the city, the governments of Canada and Quebec will each invest $3.1 million in the construction of a theatre in Repentigny.

The project consists of building a new 2,650-square-metre multifunctional theatre with adaptable spaces, states a release issued by Infrastructure Canada Aug. 29.

This financial support comes from the New Building Canada Fund, Provincial-Territorial Infrastructure Component — Small Communities Fund. For its part, the City of Repentigny will invest over $7 million for a total government-municipal investment of over $13.2 million.
