TORONTO — Zurich North America CEO Kathleen Savio will give the luncheon keynote address, Climate Change — A Clarion Call to Future-Proof Infrastructure, at the 27th annual Canadian Council of Public-Private Partnerships (CCPPP) annual conference on Tuesday, Nov. 19.
As the CEO of a leading insurance company, Savio will discuss what can be done now to make projects more resilient to damage caused by more frequent and violent storms and the role that P3s play in driving Zurich’s climate strategy.
When it comes to assessing risk, the warming of our planet has significant implications for how we build and maintain public infrastructure for decades to come, indicates a CCPPP release, adding it might just be the biggest risk we’ve ever faced.
Zurich has seen first-hand the devastation natural disasters inflict on people, businesses and communities and, as a result, has developed practices and policies that are driving changes in how people and companies behave to manage and reduce climate risks. In her address, Savio will discuss what this means for the insurability of at-risk populations.
P3 2019 will take place Nov. 18 and 19 in Toronto at the Sheraton Centre Toronto Hotel.
