Air Canada expands cargo capacity at Pearson

Air Canada today announced the start of a $16-million project to expand Air Canada Cargo’s cold-chain handling capabilities, upgrading over 30,000 square feet of space at Toronto’s Pearson airport. The revamped facility will accommodate shipments such as pharmaceuticals, fresh food and other perishables. The airline plans a series of infrastructure investment projects for Air Canada Cargo.

 

TCA invites award nominations

Nomination forms for the Toronto Construction Association’s Best of the Best Awards have been posted on the TCA’s website. Awards include the Chancellor’s Award of Excellence (TCIC), Community Leader Award, Donald P. Giffin Sr. Construction Industry Achievement Award, Green Building Culture Award, Innovation Award, Outstanding Safety Culture Award, Project Achievement Awards, Sean P. McKenna Young Construction Award and Trade Contractor Award. The deadline for submissions is Dec. 31.

 

Webinars to discuss excess soil fees

Ontario’s Resource Productivity and Recovery Authority is consulting on its proposed 2022 Registry fees schedule for excess soil and is holding two webinars to offer insights into the methodology and assumptions used to calculate the proposed fees and to provide feedback. The first webinar is Oct. 13 at 11 a.m. and the second is Oct. 14 at 2 p.m. Stakeholders are also invited to submit their feedback by email via Consultations@rpra.ca.

 

Cleantech forum set for Oct. 5 to 7

Cleantech Forum Europe, Edinburgh has announced a three-day forum to highlight the latest developments in the sector. The webinars will be held Oct. 5 to 7, with registration closing tonight at midnight CET.
