Feds, Ontario to support Diefenbunker renovations
The federal government this morning announced funding for the renovation and revitalization of the Diefenbunker, Canada’s Cold War Museum and National Historic Site in Carp, Ont. The renovations will improve ventilation, plumbing, electrical and mechanical systems and modernizing the 60-year-old washrooms and elevator to meet accessibility standards. The federal government is allocating $597,000 toward the project, the Government of Ontario has pledged $492,000 and the Diefenbunker Museum is contributing $403,000.
Maple Reinders team lands Halifax P3
Maple Reinders announced Dec. 9 that Harbour City Resources, a special purpose company of which Maple Reinders is a managing partner, has been named the preferred proponent for the Halifax Regional Municipality’s Organics Management Infrastructure and Long-Term Operating Contract. The project will be delivered under a design-build-own-operate-transfer P3 with a 25- to 35-year operations and maintenance period.
Firms join forces to create STS Geothermal
Shoring and drilling experts Turnkey Shoring Solutions and Subterra Renewables, a developer of large-scale geothermal heating and cooling systems, announced they have joined forces to form STS Geothermal. Based in Toronto, STS Geothermal will offer engineering, installation and project management services for shoring and earth retention systems, specialized drilling projects, and advanced geothermal exchange systems for commercial and residential properties.
