McKinsey reports on the future of work
McKinsey Global Institute will be releasing its latest report, The Future of Work after COVID-19, tomorrow morning. The report “examines how COVID-19 accelerated three consumer and business trends that are likely to persist: remote work and virtual interactions, e-commerce and digital transactions, and deployment of automation and AI.” Watch for our story on the construction workforce.
Three Minto office towers by BOMA
Minto Commercial announced this morning that three of its Ottawa office towers have received the Building Owners and Managers Association of Canada (BOMA) Best Platinum certification. The projects at 180 Kent St., 344 Slater St. (Canada building) and 427 Laurier Ave. (Enterprise building) are recognized for energy management and are among only five commercial real estate office towers in Ottawa to be recognized with the distinction.
Feds fund transitional housing in Red Lake
The federal government today announced it is allocating $4.2 million in funding for New Starts for Women Inc., a project in Red Lake, Ont. to construct a two–storey, 10-unit transitional housing building to support women and their children fleeing domestic violence. The development, managed by the Kenora District Services Board, is receiving financing through CMHC’s National Housing Co-Investment Fund.
