CEOs expecting major growth
Canadian CEOs are expecting extensive growth in the coming year according to the Canadian results of the Global CEO Survey published by PwC. Seventy-two per cent of the Canadian CEOs expect global economic growth to improve over the next 12 months. The CEOs are planning to expand through organic growth opportunities (60 per cent) and increasing operational efficiencies (68 per cent).

Neumann to retire from USW
Longtime United Steelworkers union (USW) national director for Canada Ken Neumann announced yesterday he will not seek re-election in the union’s international elections this fall. Neumann will retire at the end of his current term on March 1, 2022. “I am very proud of the work we have been able to accomplish as Steelworkers – we have improved the work lives, safety and well-being of hundreds of thousands of workers,” said Neumann in a statement.
Morguard lists successes in sustainability report
Morguard Corporation today released its 2020 Sustainability Report, outlining activities of Sustainable Morguard, the corporate sustainability and responsibility program that focuses on environmental, social and governance performance. Highlights include Morguard properties using 5.3 per cent less energy, reducing greenhouse gas emissions by 7.8 per cent and consuming 9.4 per cent less water compared to 2019; and Morguard retrofitting two older–generation office towers, aiming for LEED Gold designations as well as Wired and Fitwel.
