TORONTO—The Heavy Construction Association of Toronto (HCAT) recently made a $1 million donation to the Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation (PMCF).

Last November, HCAT, an organization of contractors in the heavy civil engineering construction sector, committed the donation to fund the Focal Therapy Program led by Dr. Sangeet Ghai, Trachtenberg/Haque Chair in Image Guided Prostate Therapy Research; Dr. Nathan Perlis, of Urologic Oncology and Robotic Surgery; and Kateri Corr, Clinical Research Coordinator, Department of Surgical Oncology.

The donation was made in honour of Peter and Maureen Smith, the executive director of HCAT and his wife.

On June 6, the group visited the foundation office and were joined Ghai and Perlis along with PMCF staff to present the cheque.
