MISSISSAUGA, ONT. – Saint-Gobain has announced the appointment of Jean-Claude Lasserre as chief executive officer of Saint-Gobain Canada, effective April 1.
Currently the Global CEO of Saint-Gobain Surface Solutions, Lasserre brings 30-plus years of experience within the Saint-Gobain Group in Europe, Africa, Asia and the Americas, states a release.
“I am honored to lead Saint-Gobain’s operations in Canada aiming to accelerate our development to better serve our customers and partners,” says Lasserre in a statement. “My primary focus will be to connect with our customers and support our teams as we continue our work to offer a complete portfolio of building products with our recent acquisitions, while reinforcing our commitment to sustainable construction. We are eagerly anticipating the completion of North America’s first zero-carbon wallboard plant in Sainte-Catherine, Que, (scope 1 and 2) , and the imminent launch of CarbonLow drywall.”
Lasserre’s appointment follows the leadership of former Saint-Gobain Canada CEO, Julie Bonamy, who in her tenure managed nearly $4-billion in strategic acquisitions of Kaycan, Building Products of Canada and Bailey Group of Companies, the release adds.
