TORONTO — Ontario Premier Doug Ford, ministers and parliamentary assistants met with over 300 rural municipal delegations during the three-day Rural Ontario Municipal Association (ROMA) Conference held recently in Toronto.

Ford, Steve Clark, minister of municipal affairs and housing, and Ernie Hardeman, minister of agriculture, food and rural affairs, were in attendance to deliver remarks. At the conference delegates discussed a variety of topics including growth and economic development, policing reforms and infrastructure investments.

“Since coming to office only seven months ago, we’ve taken action on many rural issues that ROMA has championed for years,” said Clark in a statement. “From protecting double-hatter firefighters to scrapping the Green Energy Act to extending natural gas lines and investing in broadband, we are listening to rural concerns.”
