MISSISSAUGA — The City of Mississauga has announced the launch of a review of land use policies for the Dixie Outlet Mall site as it reviews a redevelopment application for the site by Slate Asset Management.
In December 2022 Slate submitted a proposal to demolish a portion of the mall and build five residential apartments in the northwest portion of the site.
As part of its land use review, on Jan. 29, City staff will issue and seek input on draft Official Plan policies for community input on such uses as housing, parks, transportation, retail, office, commercial and community uses. The input will be used as a framework for future development, stated a notice on the city’s website.
The City of Mississauga’s Planning and Building Department will consider opportunities for new roads, pedestrian connections, transit supportive development, parks and a mix of land uses, including affordable housing and non-residential uses.
The review will also consider the issue of appropriate heights for developments within the Lakeview neighbourhood area.
