Gordie Howe bridge announcement

CEOs of the Windsor-Detroit Bridge Authority and Bridging North America, along with community representatives, are scheduled to make an announcement tomorrow regarding the community benefits plan for the Gordie Howe International Bridge that is currently under construction between Windsor and Detroit. The virtual announcement is set for 10 a.m.

 

Three community-based infrastructure projects receive over $18 million in loans

The provincial government has announced that Infrastructure Ontario has entered into new commitments to provide financing through its Loan Program to three eligible communities: the Municipality of West Nipissing for a new police station with a $9.5 million loan; the Town of Bancroft for a roll-off truck and trailer for $190,000; and the Municipality of Kincardine for a main replacement and upgrades to water and wastewater infrastructure in the amount of roughly $8.6 million.

 

Canada, Ontario invest to improve recreational facilities in the County of Frontenac

The governments of Canada and Ontario are investing in several recreation projects in the County of Frontenac. The federal government is providing over $1 million, the Government of Ontario is providing over $842,000 and recipients in the county are contributing more than $674,000. Projects include upgrades to the Patrick Norris Community Park, including the installation of tennis courts, construction of a pavilion as well as the installation of a score board for the ball diamond, fencing around the park and an accessible washroom. Improvements are also happening to the Frontenac K&P Trail, the Community Arena in South Frontenac as well as renovations to the Snow Road Community Hall in North Frontenac.
