TORONTO — The votes are in and Barton Street in Hamilton, Ont. is at the top of the list of Ontario’s Worst Roads of 2022 released by CAA.
Second place went to Eglinton Avenue West in Toronto. Toronto had four of the roads on the top 10 list.
Roads in Prince Edward County, Ottawa and Kingston also made the list.
Every year, CAA invites Ontario drivers, cyclists, transit riders and pedestrians to vote in the campaign and point to the roads in their communities that need improvement.
Since 2003, the campaign has influenced change, indicates a CAA release, adding repaving and repair work has been done on many of the roads on Ontario’s Worst Roads list.
Ontario’s Top 10 Worst Roads in 2022 include:
- Barton Street East, Hamilton;
- Eglinton Avenue West, Toronto;
- Barker Street, Prince Edward County;
- County Road 49, Prince Edward County;
- Carling Avenue, Ottawa;
- Eglinton Avenue East, Toronto;
- Lake Shore Boulevard East, Toronto;
- Finch Avenue West, Toronto;
- Bronson Avenue, Ottawa; and
- Queen Street, Kingston.
“Over the years, we have heard about potholes, congestion, poor road signs and other safety concerns,” states a CAA release. “Voting for Ontario’s Worst Roads helps shine the spotlight on where more work is needed. Your feedback helps us start a dialogue with the government to help pave the way for safer roads across Ontario.”
