MISSISSAUGA — Infrastructure Ontario (IO) and Trillium Health Partners have announced they have signed a development agreement with a project team led by EllisDon and PCL to prepare design and development plans for the redevelopment of Peter Gilgan Mississauga Hospital.
ED+PCL Healthcare Partners emerged from a request for proposals process and will develop the project requirements and design, schedule, pricing and risk parameters as part of the development phase agreement award, stated a release.
Others on the ED+PCL Healthcare Partners team include Parkin Architects, Adamson Associates and Jodoin Lamarre Pratte architectes as designers, EllisDon and PCL as the constructors and EllisDon Capital and PCL Investments as financial advisers. The redevelopment is being undertaken as a progressive P3.
ED+PCL Healthcare Partners will now work collaboratively with IO, Trillium and the Ministry of Health on the design and to confirm fixed pricing. The outcome is expected to be a project agreement to design, build, finance and maintain the redeveloped hospital.
The project includes the full replacement of the existing hospital, with an expanded emergency department, upgraded surgical capacity, new diagnostic imaging space, a new pharmacy and clinical laboratory and a new parking facility.
