BURLINGTON, ONT. — The Province of Ontario has announced it is investing in a new, larger mental health unit at the Joseph Brant Hospital in Burlington.
Once opened, it will include a new adult outpatient space, improved adult psychiatric intensive care space, enhanced child and youth programming and improved infection prevention and control measures.
As a next step, the government is working with Joseph Brant Hospital to complete early planning and design for the project. A construction schedule will be confirmed once future planning is complete and the project is tendered and awarded, a release reads.
The province is adding over 550 new addictions treatment beds across Ontario to build capacity across the mental health and addictions sector through the Roadmap to Wellness and the Addictions Recovery Fund.
