WATERLOO, ONT. — Skills Ontario has announced the winning entries from its Pin and Medal Design Contest.
This year, the winning pin design was created by Sienna Quadrini of St. Jean de Brebeuf school in York Region. The winning medal design was created by Ane Klopper of Don Mills Collegiate Institute in Toronto.
The medals and pins handed out at the Skills Ontario Competition each spring have been based on student designs since 1992. The design content takes place each September and encourages students in high school or college or training at a training delivery agent in Ontario to submit a design based on the theme of the skilled trades and technologies.
“It was a fun experience creating the pin in my Fashion Communications and Digital Design class. I wanted my design to be simple and timeless and I’m honoured that my design will represent Skills Ontario 2024,” stated Quadrini in a release.
“I am thrilled and deeply honoured to be recognized for my creativity in this incredible opportunity. I can’t wait to see my design come to life,” added Klopper.
The 2024 pin and medals which will be handed out during the 2024 Skills Ontario Competition on May 6 and 7 at the Toronto Congress Centre.
